Last Year’s
Summary
Last year was a beautiful example of how God continues to pour into our ministry—even amidst pivoting to online and embracing the paradigm shift of youth ministry. From the youth ministry moving to meet together on one night, to being forced to move to meet together online, God was showing the youth ministry what it means to be His Church.
In the midst of it all, God sent 5 new leaders to make sure we were staffed for the challenge, as all of the leaders pitched in to ensure we ended the year strong for the students.

Stories of Impact
When the pandemic first hit back in late March / early April, there was uncertainty of how to move forward with Youth Ministry as we have always historically held it in person at the church; however, our leaders were able to pivot to a virtual Youth Ministry program almost seamlessly, with an average attendance of 60 youth per week. We quickly found out that, in some instances, the youth were even more engaged in our online program than our traditional in-person program. Whether it was newly created online games or meeting our small groups in break-out rooms, our relationships with the youth continues to get stronger as God clearly has a bigger plan for our ministry. Finally, by leveraging virtual technology as we could be flexible with the times and days, I was able to connect with my youth all through the summer, which is something that historically would not have been possible.
Youth has made a difference in my life because ever since quarantine started, I haven’t really been able to connect with God, but because of Youth, I’ve been able to get closer to Him and my friends—even if it’s online! I’ve also made so many new wonderful and fun friends! Online or in person, I love the fellowship so much!

Prayer
Here are some prayer requests from the youth team for the new year of ministry.
- For more leaders that are passionate about investing in the youth at the bridge
- For the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health of our youth leaders, students, and their families
- For the youth to feel the love from their leaders as they put in the hard work to continue to reach out and connect with them
- That the youth ministry—its leaders and students—will be empowered and strengthen by the Holy Spirit in this season
- For the youth and their teachers, as they both continue to figure out how to navigate school during the pandemic
- For the youth and their families, that God will send His Spirit to be in their homes empowering them to love first
- That God will continue to be the one leading and guiding the youth ministry
- For Holy Spirit-inspired creativity as the leaders continue to be intentional about planning for the ministry
