Last August, we held a back pack drive and collected just over 100 backpacks for the most vulnerable in York Region schools.

Refugee Sponsorship

Our work on refugee sponsorship continues. We have served as a community sponsor for another family of 4 and a young woman; we eagerly await their arrival. This will be 13 refugees sponsored over the past 4 years.

Ashley Constable

With SIM Canada

Ashley is an office administrator for SIM’s Lifeworthy project, which brings hope and help to those impacted by human trafficking in the GTA. Working closely with Director John Cassells, Ashley assists Lifeworthy’s ministries, which provide mentoring to young women, support for parents whose daughters are still being exploited, and training and consulting for churches and organizations.

Ashley Spence

WITH URBANPROMISE

In working toward the restoration of her community, Ashley will be serving alongside her co-workers with UrbanPromise as a ministry supervisor. She will be involved in providing the youth in her community with a safe place to go after school, reinforcing the importance of education, modelling godly behaviour and sharing Biblical truths. She will be dedicated to building and maintaining relationships not only with the kids, but with their whole families as well. Ashley hopes to share the things she has learned from being a child in the program, to becoming a StreetLeader, to now onboarding full time, all while also learning from the youth and community she serves.

Joanna Yee

WITH Toronto Youth For Christ

Rahab Ministry is a compassion ministry geared towards empowering women and children in the sex trade to be liberated and restored. Joanna works in an outreach capacity with women in Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke.

Ashley Chan

WITH INTERVARSITY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

Being shaped by God’s Word and led by the Holy Spirit, the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada is the transformation of youth, students and graduates, in all their ethnic diversity, into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ.

Ashley works as the National Director of High School Ministry. Her work involves helping high school students to see their high school as a place of mission. Her hope is for high school students to grow as disciples of Jesus by inviting their friends and teachers to engage in faith conversations at school. She also engages the wider church community to invest in the lives of high school students as they journey through such formative years.
